As a lifeguard your primary goal is to protect all swimmers and participants in the Y pool. You must be prepared to respond to emergency situations quickly and efficiently. Ideal candidates are certified lifeguards who also show a courteous and respectful demeanor towards all staff and Y participants. Must have current lifeguard, CPR and first aid certificates and be able to work a flexible schedule. Shifts include early morning, evening and weekends. School Age Child Care Assistants Needed: Mornings & Afternoons in Bloomfield, Livonia and the Canandaigua Elementary / Afternoons at the Canandaigua YMCA
This individual will be responsible for supervision, planning, implementing and organizing daily programming. Ideal candidates must have a passion for working with children. Main responsibilities include (and are not limited to) maintaining a safe environment for all children, assisting in planning of daily activities including preparing, displaying a positive attitude, maintain positive relationships with parents and the school if off-site, know and implement NYS OCFS SACC regulations and more. Personal Trainer/Small Group Trainer
The Canandaigua Family YMCA is seeking a qualified, enthusiastic Personal Trainer to join its fitness team. The successful candidate will begin on a part time basis.
Candidates must have one year of fitness instruction experience, with a current Personal Trainer Certification an accredited program ACE background preferred. A degree in an exercise science-related field is preferred, but candidates with equivalent experience may be considered.
Job responsibilities include: conducting fitness orientations and assessments, scheduling training sessions, conducting individual and group exercise sessions, program planning and delivery, light daily cleaning and maintenance, and assisting members with exercise performance. Candidates must be able to correctly demonstrate and teach exercises, perform regular light to moderate physical activity, and lift up to 100 lbs.

Group Exercise Instructors
Seeking group exercise instructor(s) that has experience in teaching; Yoga and Pilates. Group Exercise instructor is responsible for creating a safe and enjoyable exercise experience. To achieve this environment, the group exercise instructor must be able to deliver a safe, fun, dynamic and effective group exercise programs, enforce all group exercise program policies and rules, maintain the cleanliness of group exercise and min/body studio and equipment and ensure that the needs of all members are met through constant attention to detail. The incumbent accepts, demonstrates and teaches the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
- Must have a certification in Group Exercise and/or specialty certifications.
- Must have experience in teaching classes in a health related field.
