Code of Conduct

The YMCA is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all members and guests.
Individuals must act appropriately and respect the rights and dignity of others.
Causes for dismissal without reimbursement include but are not limited to the following:

• Spitting, use of tobacco, alcohol or illegal drugs.
• Disregard for YMCA safety policies, rules or procedures.
• Angry or vulgar language including swearing, name calling or shouting.
• Physical contact with another person in an angry or threatening way.
• Any demonstration of sexual activity or sexual contact with another person.
• Harassment or intimidation by words, gestures, body language, stalking or any other menacing behavior.
• Behavior which intends to, or results in theft or destruction of property.
• Carrying or concealing any weapons or devices that may be used as weapons.
• Promoting any business, event or activity without written permission of the YMCA.

Such inappropriate behavior or conduct is unacceptable and the YMCA consequently retains the right to deny membership to its applicants and to revoke a membership of any current member or participant at its sole discretion.

No Solicitation Policy:

The Canandaigua YMCA has a no solicitation of members and guests policy. No solicitation of members and guests within the YMCA facility or grounds will be permitted without authorization by YMCA management.

Sexual Offender Background Check Policy:
We consider it of great importance to provide a safe and threat free environment. For this reason the YMCA monitors the sexual offender registry. Persons on the list will not be eligible for YMCA membership, program participation, volunteer or employment opportunities with this YMCA.
