Big Band Workout!
Dust off those dancing shoes and get moving to your favorite Big Bands like Glenn Miller or Tommy Dorsey. Our fabulous dance teacher Miss. Bernie will help you get back in the swing of things with Fox Trot, Waltz or Swing. The class kicks off on Friday, March 2 and will run 11:15 to 12:15.

Classes for you!
Here are some exercise classes to fit your style! No Registration Required
MSROM- Muscular Strength & Range of Movement class: It incorporates a variety of exercises designed to increase strength and skills required during daily activities. Hand weights, elastic tubing and ball work are alternated with low impact aerobics. A chair is offered for seated and/or standing support. Class takes place in the GYM.
WHEN: M/W – 11-Noon; Tues/Thurs – 12:15 – 1:15 pm
Silver Spin Class: It’s time to get back on the bike. We offer spinning classes on stationary bikes; here is a specific class for your needs. Learn the basics with AOA Coordinator Patty Spaid. She will make you feel comfortable riding a bike for 30 minutes.
WHEN: Thursdays, 7:30 to 8 am
COST: $1 donation recommended
Silver Sneakers Cardio: Fun and fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscle endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Hand weights, elastic tubing and work ball work are alternated with low impact aerobics. A chair is offered for support. Class takes place in the GYM.
WHEN: Tues/Thurs – 9:45-10:45 am
Cardio Walk Increase your heart rate and catch up with your friends with the instructor lead cardio walk class. In addition to time spent on the track there are body weight exercises and light stretching. It is a great activity for a Friday morning.
WHEN: Friday – 8:45 -9:30 am
Aquatics:
Special Aquatics Program
“A Healthy Heart Month Special!” Cardio Circuit: 60 minutes of increasing the heart rate, muscle movement and mood! Hydro Circuit Training incorporates moves that make you feel as if you are running, walking, skiing and jumping in the water. Low impact with a medium to high intensity level. Join us in the pool! Don’t take a week off in between sessions.
February 20, 22, 24 from 11 – 12 pm
Cost: $6/$12 Registration begins Feb. 13!
We offer a variety of skill building and healthy living classes in our pool. The water acts as a resistance tool to work your entire body. Working out in the water alleviates stress on your hip and knee joints. Aquatics programs are wonderful to gain strength and improve balance while limiting the harmful impact on your body. A day at the Movies
Join us for a Matinee at the Canandaigua Movie Theatres for a viewing of “One for the Money,” featuring Kathrine Heigl. It’s that time of year to get out of the cold weather and enjoy a movie with one another. We will plan on meeting at the movie theatre at 12:45. Please sign up if you plan to attend at the welcome desk.

Silver Sneakers is offered for older adults and is available at no additional cost (beyond any monthly premium) to MVP Gold members. Silver Sneakers and Silver & Fit membership gives you access to all areas of our facility including: pool, gym, wellness center, racquetball courts and exercise classes. We offer several customized classes for all active older adults. Our instructors, who are certified by Silver Sneakers, have specific routines designed for older adults to improve strength, flexibility, balance and endurance. An additional fee is required for a few of our aquatics programs.
