AOA Summer Day Trip
Book your seat today with STAR Travel for a day trip on Seneca Lakes’ Captain Bill’s Boat with an All-American theme – “A Tribute to the Flag.” After the sites, the sounds and a delicious meal we’ll stop at Lakewood Vineyards for a nice cap to the day.
When: Thursday, July 6, 9:30 am – 5:30 pm

Hula Hoop Entertainment & A Special Treat
Enjoy a Hula Hoop show by Patty’s son, Ben and then show of your own hula hooping skills. If hula hooping isn’t your thing, don’t worry come for an ice cream sundae!
When: Tuesday, May 23 at 11 am
Cost: $2 for the Sundae Fixing!

Classes for you!

AOA Class:
Join the AOA functional fitness class and gain the tools necessary to live a full and independent life. Participating in functional fitness will increase your balance, flexibility, improve range of motion, tone muscles and build strength.
Tuesdays, 11 – 11:30 am
Cost: $18 Registration required

Ballet Barre: A blend of ballet and Pilates inspired movements. This workout tones and elongates your muscles giving you the strong, fit, lean body of a dancer. This is a barefoot class.
When: Tuesday/Thursday, 9:30 am in Dance Studio

Pickleball
Pickleball combines elements from badminton, tennis and table tennis. It is a great game for all ages. We provide all equipment. All you need is water & sneakers.
Monday: 12:00 – 2 pm
Tuesday: 12:15 – 1:45 pm
Fridays: 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

SilverSneakers Classic– Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support.
Monday & Wednesday – 10:45-Noon; Tuesday & Thursday – 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

Silver Spin Class: It’s time to get back on the bike. We offer spinning classes on stationary bikes; here is a specific class for your needs. Learn the basics with AOA Coordinator Patty Spaid. She will make you feel comfortable riding a bike for 30 minutes.
Thursdays, 7:30 to 8 am
COST: $1 donation recommended

SilverSneakers Circuit: Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball is alternated with low-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is used for standing support, stretching and relaxation exercises.
Tuesday/Thursday: 9:45 – 10:45 am

Cardio Walk Increase your heart rate and catch up with your friends with the instructor lead cardio walk class. In addition to time spent on the track there are body weight exercises and light stretching. It is a great activity for a Friday morning.
Friday 8:30 -9:30 am

Aquatics:

We offer a variety of skill building and healthy living classes in our pool. The water acts as a resistance tool to work your entire body. Working out in the water alleviates stress on your hip and knee joints. Aquatics programs are wonderful to gain strength and improve balance while limiting the harmful impact on your body. Health Insurance, Helps You!

Many health insurance policies now cover membership costs to help ensure everyone has an opportunity at a healthy lifestyle. We participate in the MVP Gold – Silver Sneakers and Medicare Blue Choice – Silver & Fit programs.

SilverSneakers
is offered for older adults and is available at no additional cost (beyond any monthly premium) to MVP Gold members. It is the nation’s leading exercise program to keep older Americans strong and healthy. For any Silver Sneakers questions, visit SilverSneakers or call 1-888-280-6205.

Medicare Blue Choice members are eligible for a yearly membership through the Silver & Fit program. Silver & Fit requires a yearly registration fee of $25. For Excellus BlueCross BlueShield members, visit BlueCross BlueShield or call 1-800-671-6081.

Silver Sneakers and Silver & Fit membership gives you access to all areas of our facility including: pool, gym, wellness center, racquetball courts and exercise classes. We offer several customized classes for all active older adults. Our instructors, who are certified by Silver Sneakers, have specific routines designed for older adults to improve strength, flexibility, balance and endurance. An additional fee is required for a few of our aquatics programs.
